My name is Ashley Welborn and I am passionate about food and nutrition and using it to fuel your health, happiness and strength. My hope and desire is to encourage more people to discover the beauty of a healthy lifestyle involving lifting heavy things and eating to nourish and fuel your body. It is totally energizing, empowering and truly is the fountain of youth.
This blog is devoted to enabling others to pursue healthier lifestyles; and through it I will share my best recipes, favorite workouts and plenty of yummy goodies (without the guilt!).
I am a strong advocate of moderation and believe in eating as healthy as possible as much as possible, but at the same time having the freedom to enjoy the foods (and drink) that you truly savor and take pleasure in. There aren’t many things in life that I enjoy more than dark chocolate, big bold red wines and enjoying both with others who share my appreciation for savoring every bite. Most of all, I love food that is both tasty AND nutritious, and enjoy creating recipes that nourish body and soul. If you don’t love it, don’t eat it! I believe healthy food can and should taste every bit as good as its unhealthy counterparts and most of the time, better.
I’m totally animal crazy, and though horses were always my first love and I desperately miss riding and showing, my favorite little furry friend in the world is by far my goofy lil Weimaraner buddy. His name is Indy, for Indiana Jones of course, and I don’t think you’ll find a cuter, smarter nor sweeter lil puppy dog in all the world. 🙂
I also happen to be married to the superhero of personal trainers. My sweet hubby Ryan is my go-to resource if I ever need a little scientific insight for my training. This is us in the beautiful mountains of Asheville, NC at my parent’s farm. We both love health and fitness and my hope is that this site will help others in becoming more healthy, happy, and strong!
